PRODUCT DETAILS
The engineering of Byrd knives has undergone numerous refinements to enhance their ergonomics, including four-way clips and full-flat ground blades. Similar to Spyderco knives, Byrd knives are subject to constant quality improvement, or C.Q.I., as manufacturing processes and material availability improve over time.
The latest version of the Meadowlark knife is the Meadowlark2, which features a G-10 handle and a high-performance 8Cr13MoV blade that is fully flat-ground. The blade's hole, shaped like a comet, is a symbol of the precision and quality of the manufacturing process, and the blade's spine features a pattern of crosshatching known as jimping. This feature enhances the thumb's grip on the blade, making it slip-resistant and safer to use.
For the first time, the Meadowlark2 is available with a four-way clip that can be attached in a variety of positions, including tip-up or tip-down, and left or right-handed. The clip allows the knife to be carried comfortably and securely inside a pocket. Additionally, the G-10 handle includes a finger choil to provide extra comfort and control during use. The back lock is positioned in the middle of the handle and includes a David Boye cut away dent, a safety feature that ensures a tight grip on the knife handle without accidentally releasing the lock.
